SUB-ZERO temperatures across most of the North of England caused havoc for our football and rugby union sides at the weekend, with no games in Bradford or anywhere particularly close by going ahead.
Of course, this included local teams such as Barnoldswick, Steeton and Silsden in the footballing world, and in rugby, Wharfedale's home tie with Harrogate was also postponed.
For Barlick, they were scheduled to travel to Litherland REMYCA FC last Saturday, however, for the second time in a week, their fixture was cancelled because of the weather.
Steeton's trip to AFC Blackpool was postponed, while Silsden's encounter with Frickley Athletic FC also fell to the weather.
With the artic conditions slowly fading away, many clubs will be looking to resume their campaigns soon and get back to competitive action.
A trip to Padiham awaits Barnoldswick on Boxing Day, and they'll be eager to get back to winning ways having not won a fixture since November 26.
On December 27, Silsden travel to Yorkshire Amateur and Steeton travel to local rivals Ilkley Town, however, the Bah'tatters will host the game at an earlier time of 1:00 pm (KO).
