AN absolute bumper crowd were entertained to a close game on Boxing day at North Ribb.
The home forwards had the advantage in the scrummage with Ex Wharfedale player Matty Close dominating all aspects of the scrum. From a scrummage just before the interval the Ribblesdale forwards shunted the Foresters over their own line with number eight William Thwaite getting the touchdown. Brother Michael added the extras.
After the interval ex Ribblesdale player Omari Kaup-Samuels scored two tries wide out after clever grubber kicks gave him the opportunity to put the visitors narrowly ahead.
A serious injury at a scrum to young Wharfedale player Freddie Marsden then caused the abandonment. Happily he was later released from hospital.
