SUNDAY saw the Skipton Roses in action in their final league game of the season against Wetherby Ladies.
A win would see them crowned league champions.
From the kick off the Roses were immediately into their stride and were soon on the scoreboard with a try by winger Nicola Marklew.
This was soon followed by three further tries through number eight Sarah Pate, flanker Sophie Murtagh and centre Saima Hussain Centre, while Laura Ackroyd added two conversions taking the score to 24-0 within 20 minutes.
As the game progressed, further tries from full back Courteney Cowgill (x 2), Pate and Hussain added to their tally and the Roses finished as runaway winners.
The Roses topped off a great league campaign by going undefeated and collecting silverware in front of large and vibrant crowd at the weekend, with everyone in attendance in a glowing mood.
This Sunday (March 5) sees the Roses back in action again, as they push to reach the semi-finals of the Junior National Cup when they take on Liverpool St Helens at Sandylands. The game gets underway at 2:15 pm, so any support is welcome.
A competition which started with 160 teams, the Roses are in touching distance of creating more history.
