MENSTON Crompark conceded a third consecutive Craven League defeat on Saturday, as the hosts struggled to lay a glove on Cononley.
The visitors cruised to a 157-run victory, which resulted in them rising to second place in Division Three while Crompark remain 6th.
Menston won the toss and elected to bat first but could only reach a mere total of 60 runs despite Robert Hodgson’s best efforts (27), as his side were skittled after 18.3 overs.
Up stepped Cononley and they were in no mood to let this low scoring chase slip. Andrew Starkey was the visitors’ main man, as he hit a fine total of 120 runs from just 81 balls.
Scott Brook (22) and Tom Feather (21) were the other notable contributors as Cononley made light work of reaching their 61 target; instead they reached a total of 217 runs over the 40 overs, with the hosts only managing seven wickets in the process.
