A local boxer extended his professional record to 13-0-0 on Saturday evening.

Josh Holmes, 28, Earby, travelled to Oldham Leisure Centre to take on Colombian fighter Maicol Velazco in the lightweight division.

Heading into the fight, Holmes was favourite and was expected to get the better of an opponent with a 10-12-0 record, and he did exactly that.

Four rounds of fighting were scheduled, but the local star only needed three rounds to claim his 13th professional victory.

After dominating the opening two rounds of the bout, Holmes landed a strong shot in the 3rd round to claim a TKO win.
