SETTLE Cricket Club have announced their new president.
Robin Towler accepted the committee’s invitation to step into this figurehead role, which is richly deserved. He joined the club in the 1970s and over the last 53 years has been player, committee man, selector and one of the best groundsmen in the North West, earning recognition for this with his ‘Grounds Management Winner 2022’ award presented at Old Trafford.
Towler takes on the new role following the sad death of Tom Sharp, another Settle sportsman dedicated to local cricket and rugby. The presidency has been acclaimed by dozens of supporters on the club website and is a fitting tribute for the thousands of voluntary hours Towler has given to the community.
