IT was a weekend of distribution for many of our local sports teams, with the majority of fixtures falling victim to the weather.

The freezing temperatures resulted in matches involving Silsden (FA Vase) and Steeton (league) being cancelled, with the rescheduled dates set to be announced in due course.

Wharfedale RUFC’s fixture with Billingham was also postponed, while Skipton’s Division Three fixture against Burley also fell victim to the weather.

North Ribblesdale also didn’t have a match.

Likewise, the clubs will have confirmation of the new dates for their respective fixtures announced soon.

With a packed Christmas schedule coming up, our local teams will be praying for no more cancellations.
