Silsden AFC have had better weeks in truth.
They were due to host struggling Bottesford Town in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division on Saturday, which presented a chance to bounce back after their heartbreaking FA Vase last-32 defeat to Hallam.
But the game in BD20 was called off on the morning of the match due to a frozen pitch.
The Cobbydalers did not miss out too much though, with every other game in division at the weekend also called off due to the bad weather.
Moving on to midweek, and Silsden’s NCEL League Cup second round tie at Tadcaster Albion was due to take place in November.
But it had been postponed five times due to waterlogged or frozen pitches going into last night’s sixth attempt.
And sadly there was no joy of six for the two sides, with a combination of Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn ensuring the Tadcaster pitch was waterlogged once again.
Attempt number seven will take place on an as yet unconfirmed date.
Silsden return to action with a league trip to second-bottom Goole AFC on Saturday and could move within three points of the play-offs if they win.
But they will have to do it without popular goalkeeper Kyle Trenerry.
The stopper officially departed Silsden at the weekend and has joined the club’s neighbours and divisional rivals Albion Sports.
