AT the end of January, Giggleswick School Head of Physics, Dr Allison, took on one of Britain’s Most Brutal endurance races - The Montane Winter Spine Sprint.
It’s a non-stop, 46-mile race along the most iconic and demanding trail in Britain: the Pennine Way.
Dr Allison secured an extraordinary 1st place, breaking records by a staggering 45 minutes, finishing in a time of 07:28:09.
Physically and psychologically demanding, it requires self-sufficiency and skill, setting it apart from the rest. Starting in Edale, Derbyshire, with an 18-hour time limit to reach Hebden Bridge, it's an epic experience, immersing runners in the full intensity and ferocity of the British winter.
