SETTLE & Giggleswick Golf Club hosted their annual President’s Day last Saturday.
In a Ryder Cup format, foursomes in the morning and four ball in the afternoon, the duel took place on a scorching day with the course in prime condition.
The President’s team took on the Captain’s team, and after a morning coffee and a bite to eat, a hard fought morning saw the President’s team winning the foursomes, by a 3-2 scoreline.
The temperature rose in the afternoon as play recommenced. When the final putt found the bottom of the hole, the Captain’s team celebrated a clear 3-1 victory in the four ball.
Overall, a narrow triumph for the Captain’s team by a 5-4 scoreline ended a strong day of golf.
27 members of the club played during the day and raised over £350.00 for Cancer Research, the Captains’ Charity for 2024.
