Barnoldswick Town (EL) Football Club celebrated their most successful season so far on Saturday June 1 at Ghyll Golf Club.
John Dawson and his wife Sandra were the guests of honour and recognition was given for John’s help in keeping the players fit during the recent campaign.
Collectively the first team won the two most prestigious cups for amateur footballers in the local area; defeating Grassington United 7-0 in the Craven and District Football Association Craven Cup and also collecting the East Lancashire Football League Presidents Cup by beating Feniscowles and Pleasington Football Club 2-0.
The reserve team reached the Craven and District Football Association Norman Pratt Trophy Final, but Skipton Town reserves took the silverware after a penalty shoot-out.
The individual awards were also presented and are as follows: -
FIRST TEAM
Managers Player of the Year: George Skocki
Players Player of the year: Reece Miller
Most Improved Player: Callum Houseman
RESERVE TEAM
Managers Player of the Year: Jonathan Beech
Players Player of the Year: Lewis Bannister
Most Improved Player: Jordon Exton
The night was a great success and over a hundred people were royally entertained by the Bannister Brothers.
Lewis Bannister is both the centre forward for the reserve team and also a very talented singer and musician.
There was also a special mention to Reece Miller, who scored an astonishing six goals in the Craven Cup Final.
