A YOUNG Skipton footballer who one day dreams of running out onto the hallowed turf around the UK and in international matches as an England Lioness, has concluded another successful season within the ‘Beautiful Game’.
Lola Hird, 12, a former pupil at Skipton Parish Primary School has honed her footballing skills by previously playing for Skipton Juniors and Bradford City FC where she was awarded Clubs Player of the Year.
However, after most recently leaving Leeds United for York City FC, she had to endure a frustrating setback (a broken arm) halfway through last season, but in typical fashion bounced back in style to end the campaign on a high.
Next season promises to be an exciting one, as Hird was scouted throughout the year by three major clubs.
She will be playing up a year with the U14’s at Bradford City FC where she also played during the 20/21 season.
Not only that, as agreed with both clubs, the aspiring youngster will be part of a dual-club registration which means she will be training and playing with two professional clubs, and one of those is none other than Liverpool FC.
The Merseyside outfit have approached Hird and she will be joining them from September and will train Knowsley with some of the best coaches in the country.
