SKIPTON RFC, one of the world's oldest Rugby Clubs, held its AGM ahead of its 150th season and elected its first woman Chair in its 150-year history.
The new Club Chairwoman is Olivia Schepisi, captain of the Skipton Roses Ladies team and a leader within the Skipton Roses Ladies Squad since its inception. She was also a recipient of an RFU Volunteer of the Year Award in 2023.
The AGM also confirmed the appointment of Kimberley Chapman as the Club’s first female Director of Rugby and Yorkshire legend Neil Spence has been appointed Men’s Head Coach for the upcoming season.
The Club has also entered into a new Main Club Sponsor Agreement with Skipton Hire Centre. With its head office just across the road from Skipton RFC’s clubhouse and grounds at Sandylands, and with depots across North and West Yorkshire, the South Lakes and Lancashire, Skipton Hire Centre are one of the region’s leading suppliers of plant hire, tool hire and access equipment.
The Club looks forward to working with Skipton Hire Centre in its 150th anniversary season and beyond.
To kick-start the season, the club is holding a family fun day at Sandylands on Saturday 24 August with all members, their families and guests welcome.
