DESPITE winning an eighth successive match, Steeton are not out of the woods yet in the Aire-Wharfe League Premier Division.

There are three reasons for that - one, they were docked 20 league points for disciplinary infringements; two, there are still three weeks to go; and three, Rawdon defeated Burley by one wicket off the last ball to remain 26 points behind the Summerhill Laners.

North Leeds were at Steeton and made 182 after being sent in, Steve Pearson (4-41) and Ewan Johnston (3-51) putting them behind the eight ball.

Overseas Tremaine Dowrich then scored 112 not out as Steeton won by seven wickets inside 30 overs.

He hit 21 fours and a six and put on 57 with fellow opener Luke Chapman (18), 61 with Ben Hemsley (35) and 54 unbroken with James Robinson (11no).

In Division Two, Skipton, who haven’t won since August 10, are third from bottom and were beaten by eight runs by Alwoodley in their latest match.

The visitors made 179-6 at Sandylands, home skipper Gary Owens returning figures of 11-3-18-1.

Opener Shahid Nadeem (26), Adam Harding (20), keeper Rob Walker (36) and Tom Davies (31) contributed to the reply before Skipton fell frustratingly short at 171, losing their last three wickets for one run after Walker and Harding had added 58, and David Bunyan (11) and Davies 46.
