NORTH Ribblesdale continued their winning start to the campaign with a resounding 45-12 victory over Beverley.
For the second week running Ribb started like a house on fire, and in the first 15 minutes crossed for three very well taken tries.
The first one was a cracker from speedster Ben Coultherd who left three defenders trailing in his slipstream.
The next two were scored by the prolific Ralph Wellock adding to his hat-trick the previous week. Tom Davidson with two conversions made for an ominous scoreline of 19-0.
The visitors then got a foothold in the game and scored through Luke Hazel converted by Jenny.
Ribb were having none of it and re-asserted their authority with another converted Coultherd try and then on the stroke of half time winger Alex Dew happily gathered a pinpoint cross field kick, converted from wide out by Davidson to give a comfortable interval score of 33-7.
Beverley briefly threatened in the second half scoring a fine breakaway try by centre Lee Birch.
Not to be outdone, Ribb scored two further tries through Alex Dew gathering his second and a last ditch effort from John Padley to put the icing on the cake and a resounding 45-12 victory.
This was a confident victory but not without plenty to work on and improvements will surely come as the side gels together.
Outstanding contributions from Coultherd, Jack Hutchinson and Wellock were matched by endeavouring shifts put in by Harry Mathew, Conor Stubbs, Sam Smith and Padley in the forwards.
A bumper crowd showed their appreciation of a job well done.
This Saturday Ribb travel to old adversaries Bridlington.
