STEETON have made it 10 straight wins in the Aire-Wharfe League Premier Division.

They again showed their prowess, this time by thrashing second-placed Collingham & Linton by 172 runs at Summerhill Lane.

Sent in, Steeton made 238-6, overseas player Tremaine Dowrich (51) and Luke Chapman (48) setting them on the right path with a stand of 101 inside 20 overs.

Craig Walton (30) and James Robinson (28) then pushed them towards 200, skipper Steve Pearson then finishing on 36 not out.

Collingham had an opening stand of 31 but it was rapidly downhill after that as they were dismissed for 66 in 22 overs, with James Mcdonald taking 4-42, Dowrich 4-1 and Pearson 2-23 as the last eight wickets fell for 20.

Steeton’s last league defeat was on July 13, and that was only by two runs at home to Burley, and without their 20-point deduction for disciplinary infringements they would be sitting second (ahead of Collingham on number of wins) behind Otley instead of being ninth, 44 points ahead of demotion with a game left.

Skipton, who are 10th in Division Two, had a game to forget at home to champions Menston.

The Sandylanders won the toss and chose to bat, but were dismissed for 91 inside 28 overs, with only three players making double figures - opener Shahid Nadeem (13), Adam Harding and Keir Nelson, who both scored 18.

Menston then knocked the runs off without loss in 20.1 overs for their 18th victory of the season.
