IT was another Red Letter day for the now prodigious winning North Ribblesdale on Saturday.

This was their 23rd consecutive league win and they are now unbeaten in a calendar year. Against a side that had won five of their first six games a close encounter was expected.

Ribb started in their now usual fashion with Ralph Wellock going over after 10 minutes. Tom Davidson, as usual adding the extras. Well worked tries from Andy Thwaite, John Padley and Oliver Drew all converted by Davidson and a further try from debutant Toby Wilson and a consolation from Hull gave Ribb a 33 - 5 interval lead.

The second half was no easier for the visitors as Ribb put them to the sword scoring another five tries from Hennie Van Rensburg, Wellock with his second and tenth in seven games, Elliot Marklew, San Smith, and regular scorer Ben Coultherd.

After a couple of personnel changes late on Hull to their credit scored a couple of late tries but it was North Ribb who were dominant in all aspects of play for the majority of the game.

They are a side that is used to winning and have a collective belief that they can achieve more together.

It would be unfair to single out any individual after a team demolition job but, Coach Tom Davidsons game management, Scrum Half Hennie Van Rensburg, and John Padley were arguably stand outs in an almost complete team performance.

Next up are aspirational league winners Keighley away on 2nd November. A repeat of this weeks performance might just be good enough to inflict only a second defeat in four seasons on their hosts.

Ribb are now five points clear at the top of the league and back to back promotions are looking like a possibility rather than a dream.
