BARNOLDSWICK Town twice came from behind to rescue a point at home to Irlam on Saturday.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the 4th minute of the match but the contest was far from done there, with a flurry of second half goals resulting in the fixture ending 2-2.
After 21 league fixtures, Barlick sit in 12th place in the NWCFL Premier Division, 11 points off the play-offs, although they do have games in hand on all of the sides above them.
Things didn't start too brightly for the hosts on Saturday, however, as John J A Main was on hand to tap into the empty net.
Mason Everton did fantastically to ghost past his defender on the wing, before playing a fabulous cross into the path of J A Main who made no mistake in dispatching the easiest of chances.
Declan Daniels then went close for the visitors shortly after, his looping header going agonisingly past the post.
The next best chance of the afternoon fell to Irlam and Daniels once again, with the forward heading a cross against Barlick's post to be denied a second goal for the away side.
After the interval Town showed a great deal of fightback but were somewhat fortunate to get the leveller in the 55th minute.
A ball was whipped into Irlam's penalty area at pace and it led to the visiting defender turning the ball into his own net.
The equaliser appeared to spark the hosts into life and they were nearly ahead just seven minutes later as they crashed the ball against the post following a well worked move.
Just as Barlick had looked destined to turn the tide of this contest, it would be Irlam who went ahead once again, and it came through a spectacular individual effort.
Jack Mitchell chased the ball down, beat his marker and then rounded the keeper to place the ball into the empty goal, which sparked jubilant scenes of celebration on the visiting bench.
However, Barnoldswick weren't done just yet as Gareth Hill continued his rich vein of form by levelling the scores in the 78th minute.
A mix up at the back allowed Hill to pounced and make it 2-2.
Both sides couldn't find the winner, but a draw will do both sides nicely in their quest for a play-off push.
Up next for Barlick is a trip to AFC Blackpool in The Macron Cup 2nd Round on Wednesday, before they return to league action on Saturday when they travel to Padiham.
