Check Mat Brazilian jiu jitsu team, who train out of Aire Valley Martial Arts in Cross Hills, won two bronze medals at the highly prestigious Ground Control National Grappling Competition.
James Bevridge, 26, came third in the busiest weight class – 80kg – and debutant Harry Jarman, 14, did very well, winning three out of four fights in the 60 kg junior division.
Some 150 competitors entered overall in what was a challenging competition.
