Skipton road racer Chris Pickersgill returned to motor racing action for the first time this year over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Racing once again in the Thundersport 500 class, Pickersgill has had to miss several rounds this year due to lack of sponsorship, despite finishing third in the championship last year.
Rounds five and six of the series were at Cadwell Park, and Pickersgill struggled to get up to speed in first qualifying, finishing 16th but soon found his old form in the final qualifying session to secure a third place.
A cloudburst, which included hailstones, thunder and lightning, threw the first race start into chaos.
Chris was fifth for several laps and was the top bike on dry tyres but crashed out.
Another shower made tyre selection a lottery for the second race but Pickersgill’s choice of dry tyres paid dividends.
He came second and followed up the next day with another second and a fourth.
