The Upper Airedale Junior Cricket League have announced the first of their 2010 double-header cup final days.
It will be at Silsden Cricket Club on Sunday. At 9.30am, the under-13s from Wilsden and Oxenhope will contest the John Hindle Memorial Cup final.
Wilsden are in their first UAJCL season at under-13 level and the Second Division side have amazingly reached the final by defeating Steeton, Cowling and First Division Pendle Forest in a stunning semi-final of 260 runs.
Their opponents, Oxenhope, currently in second place in Division One and have seen off Ingrow, Skipton, Cullingworth and Oakworth, all away from home.
In the afternoon, the fare is for the William Spencer Memorial Cup for under-17s.
Holders and current Division One leaders Embsay have again reached the final and will face 2009 champions Sutton, who overcame Oxenhope in Tuesday’s semi-final.
Embsay’s route to the final included victories over Upper Wharfedale, Denholme Dynamoes and, in the semi-final, Glusburn. Sutton overcame Haworth, Pendle Forest and Oxenhope to reach the final.
The likely teams are: Wilsden Under-13s: Sam Holdsworth (captain), Charlie Busby (wicketkeeper), Sam Murphy, James Wilson, Sam Ruthven, Nick Hahn, George Heartfield, Michael Armitage, Joe Jagger, Alex Hosty, Ben Jagger, Sam Whitaker.
Oxenhope Under-13s: Lewis Hopkinson (captain and wicketkeeper), Josh Ferguson, Connor Mahon, Callum Chipperdale, Harry Lambert, Harry Marshall, Callum Holmes, Liam Colgan, Eddie Jackson, Reece Webb-Foster, Joe Horsfield.
Embsay Under-17s: Lloyd Davies (captain), Joshua Robinson, Henry Barrow, Chris Bowker, Waris Kamal, Joe Holt, Ben Webster, Jake Parker, Nick Woodhead (wicketkeeper), Alastair Massey, Ben Stockton.
Sutton Under-17s: Ben Simons (captain), Jonny Wilkinson, Luke Chapman, Amjid Hussain, Simon Todd, Callum Jones (wicketkeeper), Christian Paulat-Briggs, Zahir Abbass, Ben Whitfield, Joseph Bashforth, Ross Lacey.
The umpires for the under-13 final will be Kevin Brown (Glusburn) and Paul Smith (Gargrave).
For the under-17s final, Alan Chisnall (unattached) and A N Other (Pendle Forest) will take charge.
The Second Grand Finals day will be held on Sunday, July 18 at Oxenhope Cricket Club.
