THIS local derby turned out to be a one-sided match with Silsden well on top throughout, keeping their visitors scoreless.
The first try was scored in the opening set of six with Jak Adams finishing off a good move to post a converted try. This was quickly followed with another well-worked try, this time scored by Dave Goodings, but too far out for the conversion.
The third Silsden try came from a lovely worked move, straight off the training pitch, with Ben Atkinson cutting through untouched from full back. Cowling were finding it hard to cope with the pace and power of the hosts and James Bowdin got the first of his three tries when he took a lovely delayed pass to score close in, again converted by Charlie Lowrie.
The kicker turned try-scorer in the next move, which covered the length of the pitch and went through six pairs of hands, with Lowrie diving in at the corner and then adding the extras himself.
Bowdin completed his hat-trick either side of the half-time break, with some great support play and clever angles being run. The next score came from close in when the hard-working Phil Stephenson crossed for an unconverted try.
Silsden then put together another long-range effort with Jason Scott making good yards before Ben Atkinson took it into the Cowling red zone and fed the supporting Goodings for another try under the posts.
The final two tries came from Danny Whitaker and man of the match Atkinson to round off a convincing victory.
Silsden are due to visit Wyke on Wednesday before their last home game next Saturday against Birkenshaw.
