Cowling Harlequins 4 King Cross Park 28
HARLEQUINS were boosted by the return of Craig Nicholson and Jake Feather for the Pennine League Division Two West encounter.
They also had the tonic of an early try, Daz Greenwood going over from acting half, but he was unable to add the conversion.
They retained their 4-0 advantage until late in the first half as Danny Windle, Feather and Nicholson kept taking the Quins forward as well as hitting hard in defence.
Two tries late in the first half, one converted, saw the Halifax side lead 10-4 at the break.
Quins made a bright start to the second half with skipper Liam Sanctuary twice being held up over the line.
This seemed to dishearten the home side who conceded three more tries as King Cross wrapped up the win.
Quins' performance did suggest that better things may be around the corner.
