Pennine League Division Two West: Cowling Harlequins 10 Wortley Dragons 42
COWLING coach Darren Greenwood admits his team are in danger of folding if new players can't be found.
Quins are the only Keighley district club still running a winter league team at open age level but Greenwood is desperate for new recruits.
After a five-week lay-off due to bad weather, Greenwood had a job on his hand to get a team together against Wortley and, with five players leaving to play summer rugby, his job got even harder.
With both sides having just 13 players available, this game could have gone either way and, with the pitch resembling a bog, it was never going to be pretty.
Wortley raced into the lead, running in four tries, before Arron Hall got Quins on the scoresheet as he powered over from 30 metres.
Greenwood was unable to add the extra two but, on the next set, Cowling scored again as Liam Sanctuary went over from a Greenwood offload, the coach this time converting.
However, Wortley went on to score three more unanswered tries to end comfortable winners.
Cowling face Greetland at home on Saturday, with new players welcome at training on Thursday (7pm) at Merlin Top School.
